First Fashion Related Post!

So, i thought it was about time i actually did a fashion post! I thought id show a couple of my fashion sketches. Im just getting used to drawing them like actual fashion illustrations myself, drawing stuff like this was not my strong point when i was doing my textiles a level, so they are definitely not the best and the quality of the photos are not the best either, but oh well :-)

This set of images is inspired by London, the UK in general and also Big Ben. My first thoughts for this mini project was going to be a collection all inspired by landmarks, but then i realised that some landmarks arent that interesting for inspiration, like Big Ben for example. All it has really are some shapes, the colours are all very neutral, so i didnt think id be able to come up with much, so i decided to interpret the city in there too.

The first outfit on the left is a checked shirt and denim shorts with wedged boots. The shirt has sheer sleeves, just to add a bit of a more dressy look to something casual. It also has oversized buttons which are inspired by the clock face on the tower and the colours are inspired by the colours seen in Big Ben, so lots of browns!
The shorts are supposed to be dip dyed and have a fade from black into blue, which is inspired by the unpredictable weather in London and the UK-one minute it can be black clouds and the next it can be clear blue skies.

The middle outfit is a mermaid style dress, which is just mainly inspired by the union jack flag, but the pointed shoulder part is inspired by the very top of the clock tower, which is, pretty much the same as what i drew on the dress :-)

The last outfit on the page is a dress with an a-symmetrical hem. The top part of the dress is again inspired by the top of the clock tower and the colours are inspired by the colours found in Big Ben. Then, to spice it up a little i made the skirt colourful by using the colours in the union jack flag again but used flecks of colour rather than blocks of red, blue and white. I imagine the skirt as looking like someone had literally filled a brush with paint and thrown it at the fabric :-)
This dress is probably the one im most proud of right now, just because of the tiger stripes :-) This is inspired by India and the land mark i had was Taj Mahal, although i didnt interpret that into this dress at all, i did on the other 2 i did for this section but i decided not to put those on because the picture quality was even worse. The shape of the dress is inspired by the trunk on the Indian God Ganesha. The colours or rather pattern of the dress is inspired by the tigers that live in India, as if it isnt obvious :-). The short, mini under skirt is inspired by the hot weather in India. This part is quite hard to see, so ill just tell you that its a sunny yellow colour! :-)

thats it guys! ill be posting these every now and again so yeah!

see you soon :-)
